How to Hang a Balloon Garland

A balloon garland is a versatile and show-stopping decoration perfect for any event. Follow these simple steps to hang your balloon garland securely and beautifully.

Materials Needed:

  • Balloon garland
  • Wall hooks
  • Long balloons, fishing line, clear string, or zip ties
  • Scissors

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Choose the Perfect Spot

Decide where you want to hang your garland. Ideal locations include walls, doorways, archways, or over tables. Ensure the surface or structure can hold the weight of your garland.

2. Prepare the Area

  • If hanging on a wall, clean the surface to remove dust and dirt for better adhesion if using Command hooks.
  • For outdoor setups, ensure the area is sheltered from strong wind.

3. Install Hooks or Anchors

  • Use the included adhesive hook or a 3m hook for wall options. The included adhesive hook is to be used ONLY above painters tape. Put painters tape down on your wall, THEN the adhesive hook. West Michigan Balloons is not responsible for any damage caused by misuse. Use the adhesive hook at your own risk.
  • For permanent setups, nails or existing hooks can also work.

4. Secure the Garland to the Hooks

  • Use fishing line or a long balloon to attach the garland to the hooks. Wrap the line around a cluster of balloons in the garland and tie it tightly, then secure it to the hook.
  • Alternatively, zip ties are quick and effective for attaching garlands to hooks, fences, or poles.

5. Adjust the Garland

Once hung, step back to adjust the garland. Add small balloon clusters to fill gaps, or gently shift clusters for a balanced look.

6. Finishing Touches

Move around your mini balloon clusters to fill in any gaps/add depth.

Pro Tips:

  • For a cascading or asymmetrical look, secure one end of the garland higher than the other.
  • Avoid hanging garlands in direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent balloons from popping.
  • If you ordered multiple garland, enlist a helper to help with hanging.

Your balloon garland is now ready to wow your guests! 🎈
